The Lafage Estate is expanded over a little more than 200
hectares, including stretches of heath and pine, 138 hectares of which is cultivated for
wine-making. The dwelling of the manor is an ancient stone-built farmhouse located next to the
vineyard-fringed road between Perpignan, the former capital of the Kings of Majorca, and the
Mediterranean seashore.
Hugging the 80 hectares of marine-land, where the now archaeological site of Villarnau was
once a mediaeval village, the vineyards of the Lafage Estate dominate the surrounding grapevine. It
provides spectacular views of the Albères, an extension of the Pyrenees mountain range, which forms
a natural border between France and Spain before plunging into the blue of the Mediterranean.
At the entrance of the Estate, a boutique offers wine-tasting and colourful commentaries to
wine-lovers passing by.
