Imagine your perfect weekend away. When it comes to the diversity of the food and drink
on offer here, we’ve definitely got your perfect weekend covered. The Priest House offers, in
a nutshell, a minimalist and contemporary eating experience with a touch of the old
world.
For a traditional English meal, our main restaurant provides a mouth-watering menu or for
something a little more modern we also have the Brasserie restaurant.
If you fancy eating out, ask for one of our freshly made and packed picnic hampers to enjoy
either in the grounds of the hotel or to take with you when exploring all Derbyshire has to
offer.
Our signature afternoon teas are not to be missed with melt in the mouth cakes and scones
baked to perfection on the premises.
For the more private among you, you can either enjoy your meals in the privacy of your
bedroom, or make use of one of our stunning private dining rooms for your exclusive
use.
We are more than happy to welcome children both into our hotel and all our restaurants and
hope they enjoy the variety of dining as much as their parents. We are happy to provide half
portions of any of the existing menus or alternatively adapt our menus to suit the children where
possible. Highchairs are available.

The restaurant itself is contemporary is style with simple, minimalist décor giving it a sharp and fresh feel. The outstanding feature of the room is the stunning wine wall displayed across the entire wall at one end of the restaurant.
If the food and style of the restaurant are not enough to keep you happy, the team here will
make sure your experience is perfect. We are attentive and make sure you are well looked after
but you won’t feel like we’re looking over your shoulder. We’re unobtrusive yet friendly and
we all have a genuine desire to make your stay here as enjoyable as possible.
The Brasserie, Lounge and Bar
The Brasserie, lounge and bar offer an alternative area to eat and drink to your heart’s
content. Whether you’re relaxing in the tub chairs and coffee tables in the lounge bar with a
drink, or have ventured under the low beams into the alcove that houses the contemporary candlelit
Brasserie for some modern, simple food, we are sure you will enjoy not only the fantastic food and
drink on offer but also the buzz that comes with such a contemporary and individual
space. With its truly modern and minimalist style you will forget that you’re actually staying
in a traditional English country house.
Al Fresco Dining
We truly believe that the setting of The Priest House was made for Al Fresco
dining. Whether choosing a light bite from our Brasserie menu for lunch or enjoying one of our
magnificent afternoon teas, who could describe a more perfect setting than an English country
garden, on the banks of the River Trent, surrounded by swans swimming gracefully, a watermill from
the days of the Domesday book and the sound of water lapping around you. Rural, peaceful and pure
relaxation – We need say no more.
If picnics are more your thing, we will happily provide you with an array of goodies from the
simple to the special, sparkling water to champagne. We aim to provide you with a hamper to
beat all hampers.
